A time change in the Midwest means we must tuck the sun into bed a little earlier than usual- a little earlier than we might like. This makes it a monstrous feat when Sean & I can stay up ourselves (Hooray for nine o’clock!). But little time @ night, simply means we are able to shift our attention to early mornings & busy afternoons. So this week, in this place, has been going for walks in the morning & turning on the heat @ night (eek!). It has been a week of dinners for two, of trying new things & most importantly, a week for being thankful that somethings don’t change around this place.
This morning, when I woke up & saw this streaming across my floor:
The sun has been pretty scarce around here this week, so it was a might blessing to discover it so early on my day off! Off I went, Sean’s camera in tote, taking the long way to the Farmers Market. Do you ever see those people walking & smiling to themselves and you wonder what are they so happy about? Well I can tell you what they are happy about because today, “they” are me; and today I am happy about life & feeling pretty fortunate to be here: in the Center of the Universe, because if it’s one thing I have learned in this life it’s that behind every dark shadow is sunshine.
Then back home again, for a day of cleaning with the windows open. And so, despite having to do things around here, I am happy to have the company, even if all it can actually do is peek through the windows.
This morning, as I was scraping off my car that was hardened with frost, I couldn’t help but wonder, “Is that Frosty the Snowman” playing from my car?
Yes, yes it was.
And so, if they’re playing music Christmas music, that means it’s time to start Christmas preperations…. (insert geeky squeal here.)
Well it may be a bit TOO soon to listen to Christmas music, but it’s never too early to start preparing to prepare for the holidays. In the plans this weekend: designing my & Sean’s FIRST Christmas card, planning my Christmas party with the girls for the First Friday of December & freezing some veggies & meals from the Farmers Market.
Luckily my weekend starts tomorrow morning, because there is much to do!
